Application Scenarios of 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Composite Plates
Time:2025-11-10
As a high-end niche product, 2205 duplex stainless steel composite plate stands out in several key fields with its unique properties. Its cladding layer uses 2205 duplex stainless steel, containing 22% chromium, 5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and nitrogen elements. It features a dual-phase structure of austenite and ferrite, with significantly better chloride ion corrosion resistance than 316L stainless steel.
In the chemical industry, it is widely used in high-pressure storage tanks, reactors, desulfurization towers, and other equipment, capable of withstanding erosion from acidic media and high-temperature, high-pressure environments. In marine engineering, seawater desalination equipment, ship components, and offshore platform structures all rely on its resistance to seawater corrosion and stress corrosion. In the environmental protection field, sewage treatment systems, pulp bleaching equipment, as well as sanitary-grade equipment in the food and pharmaceutical industries, also prefer it for its corrosion resistance and cleanliness.
Compared with pure 316L stainless steel, its yield strength is doubled, and equipment wall thickness can be reduced by 30%-50%, significantly lowering manufacturing costs.
