Mainstream Coating Types and Performance Differences of Pre-coated Color Galvanized Steel Sheets
Time:2025-09-25
The coating is the core functional layer of pre-coated color galvanized steel sheets. Different coating materials determine their applicable scenarios, with four main types currently mainstream:
Polyester (PE) coating offers outstanding cost-effectiveness with rich colors. Its salt spray resistance reaches 1000 hours, making it suitable for non-extreme environments such as ordinary building interiors and home appliance casings, with a quality guarantee period of 5-10 years.
Silicon-modified polyester (SMP) coating has improved weather resistance, adapting to general outdoor scenarios, and is commonly used for exterior walls of ordinary industrial plants.
High-durability polyester (HDP) coating delivers balanced performance, with salt spray resistance of 1500 hours and excellent aging resistance. It features moderate cost and self-cleaning functionality, making it a popular choice for industrial buildings and mid-to-high-end civil buildings with a warranty period of up to 15 years.
Fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating represents the high-end option. Its fluorine resin structure provides salt spray resistance exceeding 2000 hours, top-tier weather resistance and UV protection. Suitable for harsh environments like coastal areas and snowy regions, as well as large-span buildings, it offers a warranty period of up to 20 years.
