Performance Comparison between Composite Stainless Steel Plates and Traditional Plates
Time:2025-10-25
Compared with traditional pure stainless steel plates and ordinary carbon steel, composite stainless steel plates have significant advantages in performance and economy. In terms of corrosion resistance, their stainless steel cladding performs similarly to pure stainless steel plates, resisting erosion from seawater, chemical media, etc., while ordinary carbon steel is prone to rust and requires additional anti-corrosion treatment.
In terms of mechanical strength, the base layer of composite stainless steel plates provides load-bearing capacity close to that of carbon steel, with yield strength superior to pure austenitic stainless steel. The yield strength of 2205 grade products is more than twice that of 316L. In terms of cost, composite stainless steel plates only use precious metal stainless steel on the surface, while the base layer uses low-cost carbon steel. The comprehensive cost is 30%-50% lower than pure stainless steel plates, far below the procurement cost of pure stainless steel.
In addition, its linear expansion coefficient is close to that of carbon steel, facilitating connection and installation. It has good hot and cold processing performance, applicable to a wider range of scenarios, and is gradually becoming an ideal alternative to traditional plates.
